I'm Angela and I'm a citizen of Wigan

I’m Angela and I’m a citizen of Wigan. I hope to support neighbourhoods to grow power. I hope to support institutions to give up power.

I hope for a future of collaboration. I am happy to sail alongside you in the stormy waters.  It’s not easy.  It is worth it.

About Angela

I’m in favour of self organising neighbourhoods, who know what they have; know what they need help with; and know what they want others to do for and with them.

I’m in favour of self managing teams that start with what’s strong; see people in the context of families & neighbourhoods; guide rather than direct; can sit with risk and messiness; and serve whilst walking backwards.

The Story of the Ripen Pear

Ethylene is a natural plant hormone, and is used in agriculture to speed the ripening of fruits.

For thousands of years, people have used various techniques to boost ethylene production even if they did not quite know it.  Chinese farmers would leave pears in closed rooms with incense burning.

RIPEN works like ethylene by recognising the existing gifts, skills and talents of people and creating the conditions which enable people to grow and flourish together.
