Engage to Change

An active learning experience that will guide you in exploring and developing your style and skills of engagement in order to get the most out of your connections with others.

Bring your curiosity, kind heart and your strength goggles to practice and explore:

  • Coaching and guiding styles.
  • Being present and mindful.
  • Developing empathy through active listening.
  • Responding to discord in relationships.
  • Talking with people about things that matter.

Conversations for Change

Conversations for Change

An active learning experience that will guide you in exploring the use of collaborative conversations to enable people to take greater control of their lives.

Using Motivational Interviewing, together we will practice:

  • Settling into helpful conversations – Listening to understand with a kind heart whilst wearing strength goggles.
  • Inviting people to explore and articulate their own ideas for change, drawing out their good reasons for change.
  • Listening out for and responding to motivation and change talk.
  • Using open ended questions to evoke more change talk.
  • Providing information, advice and guidance with permission.

Developing Conversations for Change

Developing Conversations for Change

An active learning experience that will guide you in developing collaborative conversations to enable people to take greater control of their lives.

Using Motivational Interviewing, together we will practice:

  • Engaging – Using open ended questions, affirmations, reflections and summaries (OARS) whilst wearing our strengths goggles. Attending to discord.
  • Focussing – Finding a useful direction. Agenda mapping.
  • Evoking – Using a range of techniques to elicit and evoke change talk. Attending to rather than cherishing sustain talk.
  • Planning – Supporting people to plan the changes they want to make. Providing, with permission, advice, information and guidance.

The learning experiences underpin person centred approaches to working with people and can aid the implementation of initiatives and approaches such as Making Every Contact Count, Signs of Safety, Making Safeguarding Personal, Asset Based Community Development and Restorative Approaches.

RIPEN are experienced in developing bespoke programmes that incorporate organisation values.  RIPEN is particularly interested and specialised in developing induction and training programmes for newly form or existing multi disciplinary teams as part of Place plans.

Co-Production Work

RIPEN is working alongside third sector organisations across Bradford and Craven to co-create a person centred change focussed development programme. The programme will incorporate a variety of approaches including motivational interviewing, mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy, asset based approached and laughter yoga. This work is commissioned by Bradford and Cravens Self Care and Prevention Programme.

L30 Centre, Netherton, Sefton

RIPEN was commissioned to evaluate 5 years of National Lotteries Reaching Communities monies  and work alongside the organisation and local people to develop and submit a successful application for four further years of financial support to build local assets through the adoption of asset based community development approaches.
